I love these LR4's. I have no need for one, and I don't know much about their reliability, but I love em.

They are overall pretty reliable, and they fixed most of the issues from the LR3. The most common problem is the water pump which tends to go, but that’s an easy fix. The other thing is it goes through brakes very quickly, like every  50k miles. It’s actually perfectly sized and very comfortable. Overall I highly recommend one.

now my car is on your car.  Having a Toyota present should increase the LR4's reliability ever so slightly.

man I just replaced the brakes and rotors on the GX at 15,000 miles.  Though I think that was an odd ball event caused by a bad sensor that would lock a brake randomly.

Mum’s has never broken down.

But she has broken it (a set of events well documented on O&E)...at which point, one must pr ay for a competent dealer network and manufacturer support.

We did just pick up a GX460 to replace the POS Suburban that my mom leased. I’ve been pleasantly surprised on how nice it is.

I think it’s a even smaller interval now that I think of it, but it’s pretty easy to do yourself.

There is none of that on island except for a few very knowledgeable backyard mechanics. It does have another 3 years of warrenty left though.

That o r the LR4 might reduce the reliability of the sticker.

Honestly it’s pretty great at everything, it’s the perfect size, very comfortable, and has distinctive styling. My only complaint is that the sunroof only opens like 6 inches, but it’s made up for with the massive windows.

Oh, I don’t need any convincing!

I test-drove an LR3 with working air suspension, but passed o n buying it due to a frightening lack of service records. It was heavenly.

These trucks tick almost all the right boxes: looks, power, offroad prowess, seating for more than 5, comfort. Reliability and insurance costs are the two deal-breakers for me right now. And 19" wheels don’t leave a ton of options in the off-road tires dept.

With the tires it’s either get a elusive set of 18’s that fit, or the Goodyear Duratracs . Eventually we might end up with the Duratracs , because the one we got had winter tires on it.

Speaking of stickers, may I ask where you acquired that white O&E sticker? I only ever saw the orange one.

From what I’ve read, the HSE has bigger brakes and caliper brackets than the SE, but the SE brake equipment bolts on just fine, making any 18" wheel fit.

Not that this matters much to a guy who's looking for a way to pay for basic repairs on his 4Runner... :(

Only problem is the white ones are not rated for recovery . Sorry.
